What is the problem with conventional pill, tablets and liquids?

They must pass through the digestive system in order to deliver the active ingredients to the body. Many nutrients are destroyed by strong acids in the stomach. After passing through the stomach, the nutrients are metabolized in the liver, before reaching the bloodstream. This entire process slows and reduces the nutrients' bioavailability, resulting in between 5% and 19% of the dosage for use by the cells in your body.

Injections and intravenous injections as used in hospitals, work well. Dosing is accurate and bioavailability is extremely high, but administration is difficult and costly. There is also the possibility of infection or other problems.

In order to get your nutrient levels to where they should be is imprecise, at best. To get the nutrient concentrations you need for a therapeutic result dosage levels have to be so high that they cause gastric distress, cramps and diarrhea before the therapeutic dosage is reached.

This is where liposomal technology comes into its own, it allows accurate dosages and high bioavailablity.

The nutrients in these formulas are encapsulated into very small multi-layer spheres or liposomes. By formulating the nutrients within liposomes, we are able to mimic the actual cellular delivery and absorption mechanism of the body.

In digestion, our bodies extract nutrients from food and encapsulate them in liposomes. These liposomal packages of nutrition are absorbed through the gut wall and enter the bloodstream. When they reach a cell where they are needed they fuse with the cell membrane and the nutritional content is absorbed directly through the cell wall.

In much the same way, the nutrients in the liposomal formulas are encapsulated in liposomes. The liposomes are made of phospholipids (fat in the form of lecithin).
Phospholipids are amphipathic, that is, part of their structure is water-soluble (hydrophilic or water-loving) and the other part is oil-like (hydrophobic or water-fearing and fat-soluble). When added to water, the water-soluble part of the phospholipid interacts with the water and the oil-like part of the molecule avoids the water.

Both fat soluble and water soluble nutrients can be encapsulated inside liposomes which makes it extremely versatile and can be used for a host of different nutrients.

Liposomal formulas are stable under acidic conditions, this enables them to pass through the high-acid environment of the stomach to the duodenum (the middle GI tract) where absorption takes place. In some cases the absorption rate (bioavailability) is greater than 90%!
